Fiido C11 vs. C11 Pro? What’s the difference?

Fiido C11 vs. C11 Pro? What’s the difference?

The Fiido C11 is one of Popcycle’s best-selling models, and for good reason. It has the right features for an urban commuter: a step-through frame, sweptback handlebars, a suspension fork, and a rear rack. However, there is another variant known as the C11 Pro. If you’re torn between the two, read on as I’ll be explaining the differences.

Before anything else, take note that both the C11 and the C11 Pro have a thumb throttle, and a 500W motor that will go as fast as 40km/h. So you don’t sacrifice performance by choosing one or the other.

Superficially speaking, there are a few differences between the two. The C11 is also available in white, while the C11 Pro has a brown saddle and grips. But those don’t explain the P10,000 price difference. To understand that, you need to know what’s a cadence sensor and a torque sensor.

A cadence sensor detects the motion of the crank. You turn the pedals, and the motor will activate. The power delivered is a fixed output based on the pedal-assist level of the e-bike. The motor is either on or off, and you adjust the speed with the press of a button.

On the other hand, a torque sensor adjusts the assist based on how hard you are pedaling. What you put in is what you get out. The harder you pedal, the faster the motor will turn. So you won’t get more than what you ask for.

At first, I thought the C11 Pro would be the clear winner because of its more advanced torque sensor. But after trying both personally, I realized the choice is not clear-cut. Each variant has its own pros and cons.

The benefit of the C11 is that its cadence sensor is simpler and more predictable. Although there is some lag, you won’t have to guess how hard the motor is going to kick. And since the motor speed depends on the pedal-assist level, you don’t actually have to exert effort to get moving.

Meanwhile, the C11 Pro has a more natural and responsive pedal-assist. However, since the torque sensor depends on your effort, you can’t cheat it. If you’re used to the C11, riding the Pro will be more tiring. It’s nothing like a manual bike, though.

So, which one should you buy? The Fiido C11 is better-suited for those who want to get around without getting tired at all. On the other hand, if you’re a cycling enthusiast who wants the assist but also enjoys the pedaling, then the C11 Pro is perfect for you.

Regardless of which you choose, both the C11 and the C11 Pro will serve you well in getting you from point A to B—without getting exhausted and sweaty. Words alone aren’t enough to understand their differences, so you should head to Popcycle and try out these e-bikes for yourself.
